CURRENTLY AT BROKEN HEAD STH OF BYRON BAY

Waitin for Pacific Hwy to open btwn Ballina and Grafton.  Has been closed since monday.  Other option is to go inland but I would rather do the beach thing..Startin to enjoy the coast lifestyle...

Recently been hangin out Brunswick Hds, Byron bay, Suffolk beach and now Broken head, next stop Ballina...Seen some interesting sights & sounds...

Ran into lots of hippies, surfers, backpackers, beach bums etc who have fallen off the GRID like me, except I will be applying for online uni graduate jobs with government and mining companies soonish which will keep me pretty busy for a while.

Feel sorry for all the above ppls + tourists as Byrons main beach has been closed since y'day due to strong side currents and rips.. Sorry yeh not a bit..

PIED OYSTER CATCHERS, SUFFOLK BEACH, they have a pippie shell which they dig up in the surf

CAN'T GO PAST UNCLE TOMS PIES AT MULLUMBIMBY, for a blurred apple or partly eaten YUMMYLICIOUS apricot pie with fresh cream.  Been droppin in for a pie since 1983.  It is  on the original old Pacific hwy which is now been bypassed by the new hwy..

Had a nice swim and walk at Suffolk beach y'day which is sth of Byron lighthouse.

FINALLY A SUNNY DAY. 1ST SINCE FRIDAY.

Yesterday was wild wind and rain.  Stayed o/nite at Kingscliffe, parked and slept 1st time in silver flash.  Nice comfortable foam mattress.  Thks Clark Rubber.
Spendin day by Cudgen creek at Kingscliffe, very relaxin and sunny :)
Have just hooked up 240v power inverter to 2nd battery and am chargin mob ph and my laptop, works well.

Havin a great start to the trip

Friday I visited friends on sth side of Brissie then went to Wynnum beach. Great company and time!
Today I think I am going into southbank, dodging rain squalls.
Sunday heading to Tweed heads to hopefully see another old friend.

The Yellow Bus in Pic above

This bus broke down in the mid 70's in the Sth Aussie outback/desert, note the red dirt, turns to mushy roads when it rains  It is resting peacefully approx 50 klms west of Cameron Corner which is where the borders  of Sth Aust, NSW & Qld meet.   Last July I was out there & came across the bus & stopped for lunch.  The bus has writings all over it with dates going back to the 70's.  There is not much left of the inside of it, mainly just a metal coffin!

Chillin at Seaforth resort Alex Headland. Gap year begins tomorrow!
